📌 Oktam Mirzayarov was born in 1956 in Narpay district, Samarkand region. Currently lives in Chilonzor district, Tashkent city. Member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan.
Starting his career as a proofreader at the "Uzbekistan" publishing house in 1977, O. Mirzayarov worked in this publishing house as a junior editor, editor, later as a section editor, senior editor, department head, and executive secretary of the "Guliston" magazine, as a senior secretary, secretariat head, and head of the regime service at the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan - UzA, as an editor-in-chief of the "Respublika" newspaper published under the auspices of UzA, as head of the Cinematographers' House Usage Department of the National Agency "Uzbekkino", as editor-in-chief of the "Hurriyat" newspaper, as editor-in-chief of the "Uzbekistan Literature and Art" newspaper, as deputy editor-in-chief of the "Uzbekistan Voice" newspaper, as deputy editor-in-chief of the "Nuroniy" newspaper, and as a magazine "Keksalik Gashti".
He works under the pseudonym "Uktam Mirzayor".
He is the author of the poetry collections “Agoh Kongil” (1992), “Yakhshi Kunlar Yoogi” (1998), “Soginch Daftari” (2019), “Sow Ishqi” (2019), “Tuproq Hidi” (2012), and “Amakimning Kasali” (2015). His essays, such as “The Power of Creativity” and “Nights Without Dawn”, which made a good impression on the public, were included in collective collections by the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan.
Documentary films “O’zbekiston Bayrogi” and “Qadr” were shot based on U. Mirzayarov’s literary scripts. He is the author of the radio programs “Bog’”, “Boboylar”.
In 1996, he was awarded the "Shuhrat" medal, and in 2023, he was awarded the "Mehnat Shuhrati" order. In 2011, he was awarded the commemorative medals "20 Years of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and "30 Years of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" in 2021.
