Department of Orthodontics and Dental Prosthodontics

In order to further improve the training of highly qualified medical personnel in the field of dentistry at the level of international requirements and standards, to strengthen and develop the educational and material and technical base that meets modern requirements for organizing the educational process, to introduce advanced information and communication and educational technologies, and to ensure that the theoretical training of future dental specialists is closely linked to the practical skills they are learning, the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.A. Karimov “On the establishment of the Tashkent State Dental Institute” was published, which provided for “the establishment of the Tashkent State Dental Institute on the basis of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Tashkent Medical Academy, as well as the establishment of branches of the Tashkent State Dental Institute in the regions of the republic on the basis of the faculties of dentistry of the Andijan, Bukhara and Samarkand medical institutes, the faculty of dentistry of the branch of the Tashkent Pediatric Institute in Nukus; The tasks of the organization of the Scientific and Practical Center of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Tashkent State Dental Institute were set (Tashkent, July 22, 2014, No. PQ-2215).

In connection with the establishment of the Tashkent State Dental Institute in the 2014-2015 academic year, 3 faculties of dentistry began to operate at the institute. These are: the Faculty of Dentistry in the surgical direction, the Faculty of Dentistry in the therapeutic direction, and the Faculty of Dentistry in the pediatric direction. Each faculty was assigned 7 departments. Out of a total of 21 departments, 11 specialized departments of dentistry were established. These are: hospital therapeutic dentistry (head of the department, prof. Kh.P. Kamilov), propaedeutic (optional) therapeutic dentistry (head of the department, prof. O.E. Bekzhanova), maxillofacial surgery (head of the department, prof. A.A. Zhilonov), traumatology and implantology (head of the department, associate professor Sh.Sh. Kudratov), ​​surgical dentistry (head of the department, prof. Sh.Yu. Abdullaev), hospital orthopedic dentistry (head of the department, prof. N.L. Khabilov), optional orthopedic dentistry (head of the department, prof. A.N. Akbarov), orthodontics and dental prosthetics (head of the department, prof. R.N. Nigmatov), ​​pediatric maxillofacial surgery (head of the department, prof. R.A. Amanullaev), pediatric preventive dentistry (head of the department, prof. Sh.B. Daminova and children's therapeutic dentistry (head of the department, associate professor S.S. Murtazaev).

The team of the Faculty of Dentistry set the goal of intensifying organizational, educational, scientific, methodological and therapeutic work as a top priority. They considered it the most important task to quickly introduce their achievements into healthcare practice, train high-quality dentists, increase the role of students in society, and fulfill the tasks set for the higher educational institution.
