Department has been operating since September 2, 2017 by order No. 518 / AF since the establishment of the Tashkent State Dental Institute by decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PP – 2215 dated July 22, 2014. The subject “Maxillofacial diseases and traumatology” is a part of general professional disciplines and is taught in the VII-VIII semesters of the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Pediatric Dentistry.
The purpose of the subject is to train students in the organization of specialized care for maxillofacial diseases, taking into account the intended purpose – the training of a future specialist – general practitioner in the field of vocational education (Dentistry).
Objectives of the subject – To study the organization of specialized care for patients with inflammatory diseases and injuries of MPS, to master the clinical symptoms of inflammatory diseases and injuries of MPS, to acquire practical skills of assistance, and to learn modern diagnostic methods.
The department trains students and clinical interns of the Tashkent State Dental Institute for diseases of the maxillofacial area and traumatology. Together with the gifted students of the institute, scientific work is carried out in the circle “Chiroy”. The obtained research results are published in domestic and foreign publications.
The approved scientific topics of the department: “Treatment of patients with congenital and acquired defects and deformities of the maxillofacial region. Currently, the department carried out scientific work associate prof. Zainutdinov on the topic: “Comparative clinical and morphological assessment of the effectiveness of osteoplastic materials for defects of the jaws”; assistant F.Kh. Islomkhujaeva on the topic: “Improving the diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic pain dysfunctions of the temporomandibular joint”.
