On July 22, 2014, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree” On the formation of the Tashkent State Dental Institute ” under the number PP-2215
Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 14.10.2014 No. 287 “On measures for organizing the activities and forming the material and technical base of the Tashkent Dental Institute, as well as determining the clinical bases of the faculties of dentistry of medical higher educational institutions”
On the basis of the above orders and resolutions, in 2014, the “Department of Surgical Subjects” was established at the Faculty of Surgical Dentistry. In 2014, 11 employees worked at the department.
The purpose of the department is to teach the skills of first aid to patients with a surgical profile, to teach the skills of diagnosing diseases.
The tasks of the department: – to teach the skills of first aid to patients with surgical profile, to teach the skills of diagnosing surgical diseases, to teach the skills of examining patients with diseases of surgical pathology.
In compliance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 5, 2017 UP-2955 – and 2017 on May 25 UP-2956, a new direction of medical and professional education (medical care) was opened at the Tashkent State Dental Institute.
On the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 30, 2017 UP-5216 and the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 3, 2017 on making some changes in the structure of the institute by the order of the rector of the Institute No. 799/AF dated December 27, 2017, some changes were made in the structure of the institute, in particular, on the basis of the department of vocational education, the medical and pedagogical faculty was opened.
In this regard, changes were made in the structure of the institute, faculties and departments. Since February 1, 2018, the name of the department “Department of Ophthalmology with a course of gynecology” and the teaching staff of the department have changed.
The department trains students of the Faculty of Pediatric Dentistry and Dentistry, and since 2020 students of the international and medical-pedagogical faculties.
The head of the department is associate professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences Yangieva N. R. At the department, students are trained in the following subjects:- eye diseases
– obstetrics and gynecology
– pregnancy and extragenital diseases
The number of employees of the department is 14, among them 1-professor, 8-associate professors, 3-assistants, 2-basic doctoral students. The number of employees with a scientific degree of doctor of medical sciences – 3, candidates of medical sciences-8, and 3 employees do not have a scientific degree.
The department conducts educational and methodological work, in particular, there are electronic textbooks, educational and methodological manuals, a collection of test questions and a collection of situational tasks on subjects in three languages (Russian, Uzbek and English):
The staff of the department has developed an electronic textbook “Ophthalmology”;
Features of providing dental care to pregnant women-a methodological guide;
Combined ophthalmopathology and dysostosis of the dental-maxillofacial system-a textbook;
Pathology of the lens – a textbook;
“Clinical anatomy of the organ of vision” – a textbook for 3rd-year students of the international Faculty;
“Optical system of the eye, refraction accommodation” textbook for 3rd year students of the International Faculty;
“Damage to the visual organ and the accessory apparatus” textbook for 3rd-year students of the international faculty;
“Diseases of the orbit” – a textbook for 4th-year students of the Faculty of Dentistry in 3 languages.
“Pathology of the conjunctiva and cornea”. Educational and methodological guide for IV-year students of the International Dental Faculty of higher medical educational institutions.
“Pathology of the eyelids and lacrimal organs”. Educational and methodological guide for IV-year students of the International Dental Faculty of higher medical educational institutions.
The number of scientific papers published by the teaching staff of the department includes more than 160 works, including 12 articles published in the near and far abroad for the 2020-2021 academic year. More than 36 scientific articles have been published in Republican journals.
Research work is carried out at the department:
From 2018 to 2020, the department conducted research within the framework of the grant project No. – ПЗ-20170922215 “Development of modern and effective methods of diagnosis, treatment of hyperplastic processes of the uterus, their combined forms and prevention of relapses”. The project manager is Doctor of Medical Sciences, associate professor Muratova N.D.
Under the guidance of Kattakhodzhayeva M.H. an independent applicant Rakhmonova N. H. defended a dissertation work for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on the topic: Optimization of approaches to individual selection of contraception in women. 14.00.01-Obstetrics and gynecology.
Currently, under the guidance of Professor Kattakhodzhayeva M. H., scientific works are being conducted: 1. Basic doctoral student E. E. Karshieva (PhD) on the topic: “Improvement of methods of treatment of neoplastic processes of the cervix” 14.00.01-Obstetrics and gynecology; 2. Independent applicant Abdullayeva L. S. on the topic “Improvement of forecasting and clinical and pathogenetic justification of methods for preventing obstetric bleeding in uterine overstretch syndrome”.
Under the guidance of associate professor Muratova N. D., the work of the basic doctoral student Nazarova D. G. is being conducted on the topic: “Pathogenetic aspects of chronic inflammatory diseases of the uterus as a trigger of hyperplastic processes”. 14.00.01-Obstetrics and gynecology.
Also, the work (PhD) of an independent applicant, Z. A. Khodzhaeva, is being carried out on the topic “Modern methods of treating adenomyosis in women of reproductive age”. 14.00.01-Obstetrics and gynecology. The head is associate professor Muratova N. D.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, contracts were signed with clinical bases: City maternity complexes No. 5 and No. 8. All the necessary conditions have been created for conducting clinical and practical classes for students of the Medical and Pedagogical Faculty.
At the Department of Ophthalmology with a course of gynecology, together with the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (BELMAPЕ), a joint educational program of clinical residency in the specialty of Ophthalmology was opened.
This educational program provides training for a period of 2 years at TSSI and targeted 1-month internships in 5 areas of ophthalmic surgery in BelMAPЕ.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, a clinical residency in Obstetrics and gynecology was opened for the first time. The number of quotas is 15.
